The Karastan Story began in the 1920s when American retailer and textile manufacturer, Marshall Field built a loom capable of recreating the detailed craftsmanship of hand woven rugs. From the moment the first Karastan rug came off the loom (2:02 p.m., April 8, 1928), the name became synonymous with elegant machine-made rugs that rivaled their handmade counterparts. Elegant, durable "oriental" rugs were available for the first time at affordable prices!
In 1948 Karastan introduced yet again another innovation. The Kara-LocĀ® method of weaving, leading to an explosion of fashion innovations, cut and loop effects and multi-colored designs at least 15 years ahead of the rest of the industry! This innovative method made possible the production of high-styled, quality carpets at prices affordable for average consumers. As the exclusive Karastan Gallery Dealer we show an extensive selection of these amazing carpets and rugs. Visit our Showroom today!
